It often seems as if there are more fatalities from plane crashes because plane crashes are so highly publicized, when in fact, you’re far more likely to die in a car accident than a plane crash. If you’re planning a trip, remember that booking air travel tickets well in advance can save you a lot of money. Air travel is also cheaper if you are flexible about your destination.
Cheap travel is usually easier if you plan ahead. You can buy travel guides specifically for cheap travel that offer tips on how to save money on everything from flights to bus fares to accommodations, and meals.

Can I travel around Europe on 1-way tickets?I am a Malaysian working in Norway. I am planning a little tour of France and United Kingdom this coming May. Here's how my plan goes:
1. Fly from Oslo to Paris by air
2. Travel from Paris to London on Eurostar
3. Travel from London to Edinburgh via train
4. Return to Oslo from Edinburgh by air
I'm worried that for the trips from Oslo to Paris, then Paris to London and finally from Edinburgh back to Oslo I might experience difficulties at the immigration authorities because I'll be holding 1-way tickets instead of return tickets.
Can anyone advise if my travel plan is sound? Thank you very much.

Check out their official site. You wont find a lot cheap these days due to the rising gas prices, so I'd say that the 260 something price was probably one of the best you'll find.
Did you try Southwest airlines? They don't advertise their fare through the online sites such as orbitz and expedia. Also if you're looking for a scenic route, try Amtrak.com or the slowest, Greyhound.
$1495 doesn't surprise me for peak season travel from eastern USA, across the Pacific, and back. Next time, be sure to shop your airfare with many sources including consolidators. They sometimes have better prices on international flights. Use http://www.bookingbuddy.com if you have exact dates in mind. Also try http://www.farecompare.com/fare-search/year.html?type=homepage2&departure=TLH&destination=BJS&t=r&s=r#Select_Month — this will show you fare differences depending which month you depart in. You can update your cities there (I randomly picked Tallahassee and Beijing) then sign up for sale alerts on the same page. I do this a lot, and this would be my strategy to get the best price. Being flexible, checking for cheaper travel dates, and shopping well are keys to getting the cheapest airfares. Good luck!

Delta has a flight for $420 including taxes. That's the cheapest I found right now. There are a few airlines that fly there Delta, Northwest, Us Air, AirTran and United. Most airlines post bargain flights after midnight on Tuesdays. You can try checking then or make some calls directly to the airlines to see what you can find.
You most likely will find that it's cheaper to take a bus or train but it will take you longer to get there.

There is: http://www.farecompare.com There's 2 really good options there to do exactly what you asked for. First, you can choose their "Research Cheapest Airfares" option; enter your 2 cities, click it, and voila…. Second, you can use their "Dream Trips" option; enter your city, click "change" and whoooomp… there it is! It's an amazing tool in the hunt to find the cheapest airfares. But not only that, when you click a fare you want, choose the available dates, it even compares it against more "unpublished" (aka "consolidator") fares to see if someone's selling it even cheaper than the airline itself has it in their computers or on sale.
The main drawback is the same as all other airfare search sites–some low-cost airlines such as Southwest and Allegiant do not participate in other booking sources, so if they serve your route, you have to check those individually.

cheapest most of the time is by bus however not a desirable mode of travel for many. Ryanair is good (once got a return flight London-Marrakech for 30pounds with them!) however sometimes the airports they use are out of the way, I know for Frankfurt it is. Here is my method for finding the cheapest flights which served me well travelling europe and africa over 3.5yrs.
Go to skyscanner.net or jetabroad.com (these are the ones i used that i found the best but there are many) Check the flights you want and it will list all carriers from cheapest to most expensive. Afterwards when you find the cheapest flight, lets say easyjet, you then go to the easyjet site and see how much they charge. I've found flights that were say 30euro on skyscanner and then on the carriers site are much cheaper, like 15euro, and equally its been the other way around.
skip Barca, people are rude @rseholes, my least fave place in europe (however sagrada de familia is amazing). Madrid is cool though, its spain, barca is not spain, Catalonians suck. Otherwise a good itinery. Germany is my fave country, many good times had there. Try and add in Heidelberg if you get the chance…its awesome
EDIT: Also i'd highly recommend Prague (cheap trains from germany) Prague is a really fun and beautiful city. Bern and lauterbrunnen in switzerland which is on route to marsailles-barca from germany
